What's over 6 foot tall, wears curly toed shoes and looks ridiculous in an elf uniform. That's right...Will Ferrel in the classic Christmas time movie 'Elf'. In the holiday spirit, Google Play is giving a free download of 'Elf' to all in standard definition. You can download it right here from the Google Play Movies & TV section. Of course if you want to watch it in high definition you'll have to pony up a few bucks to pay for the privilege but will you really laugh any more...probably not. Regardless it still looks and watches terrific on your Galaxy S4 and acts as an introduction to all the other great movies and tv shows you'll find on Google Play. What's your favorite scene in ELF? Let us know in the comments below!

If you've been waiting for a great deal on a MicroSDHC card for your Galaxy S4 then this could be the deal you've been waiting for. Amazon has the 32GB Class 10 MicroSDHC on sale right now for just $17.75. That's typically the price the 16GB goes for. The lowest we usually see the 32GB at is about $25-$30 so this is really cheap for the 32GB. It also comes with a SD Card adapter so you can use it not just in your tablet but in your laptop or camera. Sandisk is probably the premier SD card maker and Class 10 is the best they get and is particularly great at not just photos but playing videos as well. Slower cards like Class 2 or 4 sometimes have trouble streaming video. Not sure how long this price is gonna be so I'd snap one or two up if you're interested. Link below. Perfect for today's high-performance Android smartphone and tablet users who want to get the most out of memory-intensive activities like 3-D gaming and apps, the SanDisk Mobile Ultra microSDHC UHS-I card drives transfer speeds of up to 30MB/s for faster app response times. For shooting Full HD video and high-megapixel pictures, it delivers two times the speed of typical microSD memory cards and a class 10 rating for the highest video recording performance available. In addition, the included SanDisk Memory Zone app lets you easily view, access, and backup all of your digital files from your phone's memory, additional memory card and cloud services all in one convenient place.
- Highest Full HD video recording performance available with class 10 rating - Ideal for Android and other smartphones and tablets - UHS-1 enabled - Perfect choice for Android smartphones and tablets - Faster app performance with transfer speeds up to 30MB/s - 2x the speed of typical microSD cards for advanced photo capture - Water-proof, temperature proof, X-ray proof, shock proof±

Take that iPhone. According to the consumer review blog 'Which' the Galaxy S4 topped all comers in a contest of battery life. Other phones tested included such popular devices as the iPhone 5S, HTC One, Galaxy S4 Mini, Nokia Lumia 1020 and more. Coming in with a stellar1051 minutes of call time and 405 minutes of internet use, the S4 topped both categories followed up closely by a bevy of other Android handsets. Perhaps most interesting, the iPhone 5S only placed #4 in the talk test with 651 minutes and a paltry298 minutes in internet use. Factor in the fact the Galaxy S4 has a removable battery and it's a hands-down slaughter when it comes to which leading smartphone is the best for those not wanting to worry about their battery running out of juice during a long day. The one phone we would have liked to see included in this contest would have been the Droid MAXX, which is known for its extra large battery and long life. But alas...when it comes to the most popular handset, shown here...the S4 comes out on top. Source: Which?

There's been a lot of speculation about just how many Galaxy S4 phones Samsung has been able to sell since its launch some 6 months ago. While the company announced an initial milestone of 10 million a scant month or so after release, we haven't heard anything since as far as concrete numbers. In fact rumor had it that after initial demand was satiated, the sales volume fell of a cliff so much so that the company was rushing to have the Galaxy S5 ready for launch perhaps as early as this January! Well folks, it seems the naysayers and doubters were well...full of baloney because Samsung CEO JK Shin just revealed that not only has the company's flagship phone been selling just fine, it actually sold 20 million units in only the first 2 months on the market...and over 40 million during the first 6 months. Now those are some impressive numbers folks and they don't even include the S4 derivatives such as the S4 Active or Zoom! Now compare this to the previous generation Galaxy S3 which sold 30 million units in its first 6 months of availability and it would seem that the S4 is in fact quite a success. Now it is of course possible that the company had even loftier sales goals in mind...but 40 mil ain't nothing to sneeze at. AndroidAuthority

If you've been watching tv lately you might have noticed that Samsung has come out with a new line of commercials promoting its newest addition to the Galaxy S4 family...The Galaxy S4 Active. The theme of the commercial is pretty straightforward...the S4 Active can pretty much take whatever you throw at it and it's ip67 water and dustproof rating will keep it humming along. In the ads we see various scenarios from a dunk in the pool, to being buried in sand, to an inadvertent coffee spill or drop into a bowl of flour. Each time the S4 Active comes up working perfectly. You can even dip it under the sink to clean it off. There's several variations of the ad...the long form 20 second spot up above and several shorter 15 second versions which we've linked below. What do you think of the S4 Active ad campaign?

AndroidAuthority does their latest bang-up job in reviewing the Galaxy S4. Starting with the physicalities, the S4 is both slightly smaller and lighter than its predecessor, the Galaxy S3...while having a larger screen...a full 5 inches with Full HD and 441ppi. Useing Samsung's Super AMOLED technology really pops the screen colors and the high resolution ensures everything is sharp. The Snapdragon 600 quad core processor powers the Galaxy S4 and in word...it's impressive, one of the fastest phones on the market. The removable battery and MicroSD are again incredibly useful and the S4 includes a boatload of sensors...in fact more than any phone before including such stapes as gps, wifi, nfc, but adding a barometer, temperate gauge, rgb color sensor, infrared gesture sensor and compass. It also includes an IR blaster to use the phone as a remote control and specialized software that utilizes the various sensors and make them useful truly make the software additions useful on the S4. There's much more so watch the video and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

In a strange, but pointed ad meant to show somehow that Apples just aren't meant to be used for communicating, Samsung has released this strange but entertaining ad in Iceland where we go from a lone Apple bearer finding a way to join a group of Ninjas in a dance routine. We're not exactly sure how we get from frustrated Apple sufferer to Galaxy 4 bearing Ninja dancer to goats, but it's all in fun nonetheless. We also don't speak 'Icelandic', so if there happens to be someone of northern German heritage on the site that wants to translate the verbiage in the ad please feel free to do so in the comments.

The Galaxy S4 Active gets the full on Mobile Tech Review treatment in the video above and not surprisingly we find out that it's really almost identical to the regular Galaxy S4 but with the added ability to withstand water up to a meter deep for 30 minutes as well as being somewhat dust proof. Lisa does her usual stellar job of walking us through all the software and hardware details and while the phone is a tad thicker than the normal S4, the added water protection as well as metallic look back makes this a preferable purchase, especialy since it is available at the same $199 on contract price at AT&T. Now make no mistake this is not a 'ruggedized' phone...you still can't drop it without worrying about breaking the gorgeous 1080p screen, but that water resistance sure is nice.
