The next version of Android, called either Android L or Android 5.0 will feature a new design language that was introduced by Google during their last I/O conference. The new look of Android is called 'Material Design' and is meant to emulate the look of flipping through colored paper for a more natural, possibly pastel type effect. The overall look is more colorful and flatter and is expected to be easier on the eyes while also more satisfying visually as you move through the operating system.
The site SAMMOBILE got their hands on an early build of Android L as it's being implemented on Touchwiz for the Galaxy S5 and has put up the above video where we get a good look at it. While some of the familiar Touchwiz features and screen still retain much of their old look, we see that most if not all of the icons have been redone and there's definitely a new color scheme at work on multiple pages. For all you Galaxy S5 owners it's worth taking a look at to see how your phone's OS will look in the next month or so when Android L starts rolling out to your handsets.
