Title: mount Galaxy S/upgrade O.S.
Post by: 69Rixter on February 24, 2016, 09:17:00 PM
Evening:

For quite some time I've been trying to get any computer to "recognize" this phone. I've used both Win7 and LM17.3. LM17.3 did "show" the phone by showing it's hardware i.d., but wouldn't mount it. I've gotten some tutorials, but haven't implemented their suggestions yet. So, I'm still looking for suggestions on how to "mount/see" this phone. Then once mounted, I want to upgrade from FroYo2.2 to either JellyBean 4.2 or KitKat 4.4. I think I'll use KIES, but would like to hear from those who have used either ODIN or KIES and their thoughts.  phone specs:  Samsung Anycall GalaxyS 1 model # shw-m110s---running FroYo 2.2 and phone is rooted
THANX:
Rick

P.S.   Anyone know how to determine if the tether cord is a "charging" or "data" tether?

ADDENDUM: Mar.1, 2016   I've solved the "tether" question.   Still need help with how to "mount" the phone! HELLO???  Is there any body out there?
